Brittney Karaoke - Love Story by Taylor Swift

My daughter is 15 and I have never really heard her sing other then messing around with Rock Band on the Wii. Well, she did Karaoke at a restraunt we ate at tonight. Not bad at all. I am impressed to be honest!

Too Many F’ing Ads…

We interrupt the irregularly scheduled posts here at ChrisLeckness.com to bring you a special announcement from Chris himself…

WTB LESS ADS IN RSS

Thanks. I don’t know if Google Ads have gotten better, but I am seeing more and more big ass ads in RSS feeds. I tested them myself and couldn’t keep them going for more than 2 days on Mobilitysite’s feed. I realize that we have to monentize our sites, I do, but dayum. There are 2 sites I check from different publishers that have 2 lines of content and about 800×250 pixels of Google ads.

</end rant>

An Idea for a Twitter Application - Twitter Poll

twitterlogo I am not good with meshing online services with additional functionality or anything, so I couldn’t pull this idea off myself anyhow. That said, I’ll share the idea with anyone. I know there are many devs out there doing things online that work with Twitter to leverage its info for their own purposes. Some cool things out there really. My idea seems like a cool idea.

I don’t know if it’s been done before, but if not, here goes.

So, you got all these followers and rather than asking a question and scanning over the @replies, how about a poll. Sure, I could go to Polldaddy and make a poll to link, but what if I could make a poll that could be either public or private (only the creator’s followers could participate). What if I create the poll and hit submit and it tweets the poll title and link. My followers could choose to tweet their replies. After I was done with the poll, I could click something like "Tweet Results"? Seem like a good idea?

If this has been done, let me know. If not and someone wants to do this, let me know.

twitterpoll.com is taken, but nothing is there.

Attention Phone Manufacturers: Make me this phone please?

htctouchpro2_1 I need a special phone. This phone will need to have 2 sim slots. Yes, I know, there is something like that out there. Mine will be a little different. Like I said, it needs to have 2 sim slots. One for my personal sim with data plan and all and the other one for a "work" sim so I can get company mail, pages, and calls. Why? I DON’T WANT TO CARRY TWO PHONES ANYMORE! There are things I want to be able to do with my personal number that I don’t want to do on the work number and vice versa.

This phone would need to be a Window Mobile Phone. It would need to have custom software to allow for each sim to be able to ring in and have a different ring tone depending on which line is ringing. It needs to have a special version of Outlook that allows the exchange mail accounts to be different and definitely not merged together.

Now, let me get picky. I want this on a slide out QWERTY style device. Just throw this all into the HTC Touch Pro chassis and I will be happy. I can settle for my 2nd favorite form factor too, something like the Propel Pro or the BlackJack. I do very much prefer the touch screens, so ya.

Come on Samsung or HTC. Can ya hook a geek up? I don’t wanna carry two phones anymore.

Thanks Microsoft - Best MVP Award Yet

I don’t think I have tooted my own horn in years, especially about being re-awarded the Microsoft MVP Award in Mobile Devices. Last year, I took on the Zune MVP title, but requested to be moved back to Mobile Devices mid flight. Well, anyhow, this year on April 1st, I was re-awarded again and like I said, normally I wouldn’t say anything, but this year I want to share this beautiful piece of hardware I got.

MVP-Award-015

This is the best award I have gotten in 5 years. I absolutely love it, it is awesome! Thanks Microsoft.

Twitter: On again off again…

Yes. I am using Twitter again. My Twitter saga goes all the way back to March 2007. Back then I resisted the urge to jump onboard. To be honest, I didn’t really see much use in it. I still am a little skeptical of it’s true value, but I am finding a way to make it enjoyable. I do enjoy chit chatting with others and it does provide a almost live, multi user, chat environment. It gives me an opportunity to hop into conversations that are not worth the time to talk on the phone about, but a quick note back and forth is enough to discuss. I also gives me a chance to read what others think about hot items coming up and even current events. I get to see silly things like what Fred Durst of Limp Bizkit is doing.

Do you use Twitter?
