Unlikely Success Story - Kids and iPods
Bending to the pressure of allowing my daughter to obtain the things that a kid unfortunately need to be “cool”, I purchased her an iPod Nano last year. Yeah, I know, superficial. Think about it though, when you were in school, didn’t that make fun of you if you wore Wranglers or Kmart shoes? Instead, you had to wear Guess or Levis and at minimum, Nike or Pony. (those were the days…) Maybe there are also regional items that you had to have or be picked on. Anyhow, I hate how society dicatates this items, but I will be damned if my daughter gets picked on for stupid things like this. Pick on her because of her, not what she has or wears.
Ok, so last year I bought her this iPod. A few months later, it gets confiscated at school. Placed in a drawer. When I showed up to get it back for her, it was missing. Well, I instantly assumed it was a teacher or staff member, who else has access, right? I filed a complaint and was content thinking that some poor teacher got a new gadget. I posted about this back in May 2006 about this. Case of the Missing iPod Nano : Don’t give kids iPods!
Well, surprise surprise… Today, it showed up. Turns out it was lifted but another kid and he had it taken up today. How did they know it was my daughter’s iPod? The kid admitted it!!! Good things do happen to good people.
