Brett graduated from Tiger Cubs to regular Taekwondo less than a month ago and is a white belt again. The Alabama State Taekwondo tournament was coming up and I wasn't too sure that he'd be ready after 3 weeks to compete in the tournament, but Mr. Sellers at Bailey's thought he would. We went ahead and signed him up. The tournament was today and I am proud of Brett. He didn't get 1st place in either category, Sparring or Traditional Forms. Considering the age difference between him and some of the others, I am happy to see him do so well today. 3rd place isn't so bad considering. He is happier than I thought not "winning", but I think some hardware helped that disappointment out well. To be 100% honest, I was shocked when he placed in both. I kind of expected 2nd or 3rd in his sparring, but the form I was worried about. Check out some more photos too! Full story
