Tweets via SMS, Are they working for you?

Someone I follow on Twitter is having issues with intermittent tweets making it to her phone via SMS. I haven’t been following the problem, but from what I saw, could it be that the individuals she is follow are not set to device update on? Not sure, I may be in left field but it’s worth looking into. I remember a couple days ago she thought it might be her carrier, Sprint.

Even with device updates on, you can follow someone and NOT have the tweets come to you via SMS. How? By default I think. All mine are set to device updates : OFF as shown below.

I remember seeing when following someone a way to turn that on. Here are the options below.

Just to see how it looks when it’s on, I set device updates on and that is what we have now for vkoser below.

I am not sure if this is the problem that this person is having, but it’s worth a look.

    Honestly I've had some trouble myself getting the sms alerts to turn on/off and work. It sees kind of hit or miss. I ended up finally getting mine working by using the messages through sms to turn alerts on or off for users I couldn't seem to get working via the web preferences. Granted this was a year or so ago when I was having my trouble so it's probably entirely unrelated to your friends issue which I've been following as well that seems carrier specific.
