Wall-E Souvineer Watch and One Thumb and Half Up

Sunday, June 29th, 2008

On Friendfeed, it seems that every post about Wall-E is getting dozens of good reviews, so I figured I’d check it out. I am normally not a theatre kind of guy, I prefer to watch in my Living Room, but I do get out 2-3 times a year to check one out on the big screen.

I loaded my Wife and Son up and headed down to the 2:50 show. It was very good, but I was a tad disappointed that it wasn’t better after all the positive comments. Don’t get me wrong, it has a cute story line with some pretty cool lessons to be learned as well, but it wasn’t all that I expected.

The good news for my Son is that I scored him a souvineer Wall-E Watch!

I do have a thought though… Are we going to be those humans in 700 years?

Brett’s 1st Taekwondo Tournament - 2 Bronze Medals

Saturday, June 28th, 2008

Brett graduated from Tiger Cubs to regular Taekwondo less than a month ago and is a white belt again. The Alabama State Taekwondo tournament was coming up and I wasn’t too sure that he’d be ready after 3 weeks to compete in the tournament, but Mr. Sellers at Bailey’s thought he would. We went ahead and signed him up. The tournament was today and I am proud of Brett. He didn’t get 1st place in either category, Sparring or Traditional Forms. Considering the age difference between him and some of the others, I am happy to see him do so well today. 3rd place isn’t so bad considering. He is happier than I thought not “winning”, but I think some hardware helped that disappointment out well. To be 100% honest, I was shocked when he placed in both. I kind of expected 2nd or 3rd in his sparring, but the form I was worried about.

Brett’s Kindergarten Graduation

Saturday, June 28th, 2008

This was back on 5/22/08, I just lost my memory card. My wife actually had it in her photo printer and we found it today looking for it so I could snap some shots of Brett’s 1st Taekwondo Tournament.

My daughter is old enough to drive in 1 hour, dammit…

Wednesday, June 25th, 2008

That’s all I have to say.

Well, she isn’t 16 yet. In an hour, she turns 15 and that means I have to take her to get her driver’s permit. Lord help us all. Not the day I was looking forward to.

Do you think American Gladiators is rigged? I do.

Monday, June 23rd, 2008

That’s all. I’ve just seen some things in the last few months that make me think it is. The problem is that I have to continue watching it. My son loves it and that’s a good thing for us to watch together. Rigged or not, some of the female Gladiators are kinda hot, eh?
